With Gramoo's school carnival yesterday and our city's "fest" today, I'd say we've gotten our fill of festivals to last us awhile. Although I'm not sure Easton could ever max out on bounce houses.
So, yesterday we headed down to Gramoo's school. Easton brought his new Spidey dive sticks in the car and guarded them from Dalton as best he could:
As soon as we got there Easton was ready to hit up the Nemo bounce house:
At first the guy didn't charge him any tickets, he thought Easton was too little to actually get much out of it. The second and third times he got charged...he remembered us and "That boy can bounce!"
They had lots of little carnival games set up, a lot of them required more skill than E has, but it didn't keep him from trying. One lady helped him "cheat":
He won a fan:
The two-ticket prize it was, it didn't last my 3 year old very long. He was fine with it, though.
There were other prizes to be had, like this whistle:
And more things to do, like choose the colors for this spin art:
We had to go find which station Gramoo was running so we could show her:
Then Easton decided he wanted to get his face painted. But the line was long so I suggested a snack while we waited in the line. E picked a blue snowcone:
I don't know if it's called other things in other parts of the country or if it's just Jason, but he calls those snowballs. However, in Colorado, if you said simply "snowball" one might get confused. :)
Oh yeah...Dalton was there too. But he was on my back so it was much harder to get pictures of him:
Lauren was there as well: spray painting hair at the booth next to face painting:
Easton's turn, finally!
Roar!
Easton picked Dalton's outfit yesterday...his "Go Tigers" LSU jumpsuit. So they were both tiger fans at that point.
Waiting his turn with his tickets:
Gramoo had moved to a frog launching game and Easton most wanted to give her a hand at that point:
Dalton and I went to check out the high school cheerleaders performing. It was nothing exciting:
We went back for Easton and started to wrap it up. But Dalton decided he was hungry. For milk. So I nursed him a bit and then carried him on the front for awhile:
We snagged some dinner: a bag of Doritos and a juice box. Mmmm...carnival food. And then we headed for the car. Chasing this rabbit all the way:
Neither kid was in bed till after 8 p.m. but that's okay. We had a fun evening.
This morning Jason and Easton ran to the grocery store that has a Starbucks inside for a caffinated treat for us and bakery doughnuts to boot! Mmmm.
We walked over to Cityfest after we ate. We live close enough that the drive would've been just as long as the walk...maybe longer with parking and such. Although we did have to climb a fence this time. With D on my back!
On our way!
Easton used to love the inflatable animals, this year he decided this was close enough:
And he wouldn't sit on the police motorcycle either, so J posed instead:
D had fun on my back again in our borrowed Ergo but was once again obsessed with getting a "Baaaa!":
Eastie scored both a sucker and a junior police badge:
D started to look a little droopy, but still wouldn't let go of that balloon:
Easton bounced in a bounce house:
Dalton drooped a little more:
We decided to help him perk up, his first amusement "ride":
And checking in with big brother during their trip:
A montage for you:
We let D walk around a teeny bit:
Wanting back up because that's where his balloon was:
We disovered an inflatable "room" with a wind current blowing balloons all about. Easton paid $2 to get in (the other stuff was free) but he had a blast and could stay as long as we wanted:
But Dalton was getting pretty tired so we made our way towards home again stopping to greet a giant kangaroo first:
About to climb the fence again:
As we got right by the house our across-the-street neighbors pulled into their driveway after their own trip to Cityfest. They have a newborn baby girl we hadn't seen yet so we went to meet her. Then I got annoyed at her dad because he was acting all uptight about things. The mom was fine with Easton talking to and touching her, the dad seemed to think E was being a little rough with their baby girl's foot. He wasn't. But Jason just kept saying, "He'll loosen up, he's a new dad." I was still annoyed.
But I get that way, don't I?
Anyway, boys did quiet time, J's doing the lawn, I'm doing the blog...or I was. I'm done now. Bye!

Festival Fever! What is on tap for Sunday??? Moo
Sounds like you had a great day! Hooray for the Ergo! They rock! I need to bust out my becco for Luke.
He tends to pull my hair though. Grrr.
Bouncing and balloons pretty much rule in our house too. I love the back pouch, I never had one of those and it would have come in handy!
Quite the festive weekend. Looks like fun!
Very fun! We were supposed to go to a festival yesterday, but I wasn't feeling well so we stayed home.
Looks like you all had a great time. I love the spin art.
