Lots to Catch Up On

I guess that's the norm after a weekend of not blogging, I hit you with overloads on Mondays. Something to look forward to, right? :)

Let's not waste any time then, naptime is only so long...

So, back to the fiesta at Microsoft on Friday. Easton's spikey hair was indeed a failure, but since he wanted it so badly, we tried our best. This was as good as it got but he was loving it so all the pictures were great...he was a total ham:

That was with it wet. I had used gel and some spray on wax I have. Can you believe this girl doesn't have a single bottle of hairspray???

Anyway, once his hair dried it looked...well...it looked like this:

(Oops, I realized later that his car seat strap is twisted there...eek!)

Anyway, that was sooooo far from the look we were going for. People at the fiesta kept asking us where Easton gets his curly hair from! Poor kid with his 'fro.

Dalton looked normal, thank goodness:

The boys had a lot of fun at the party. Kaiden was there and Easton and Kaiden ran all around and drank juice out of cactus shot glasses and colored on the dry erase boards and were just generally good little buddies. Dalton tried hanging with the big boys too. He loved when someone was blowing bubbles and he also found boxes and packing supplies to play with:

Funny to me how Jason unintentionally cut off E's 'do here:

We came home and fed the boys since they are not really fans of the Chipotle they had catered to the fiesta. Then it was bedtime.

Saturday was pretty low key most of the day, if I remember correctly. But after Dalton woke up from his nap we headed down to the Children's Museum for a very short time (about an hour). We knew they closed at 5 and we got there at about 4 and boy was that a fantastic time to go, even though it was a Saturday it was even less crowded than the weekday mornings when we usually go. Nice!

When we first got there Easton decided that this time he would wear one of the costumes they have. So he dressed up like a bird:

Dalton didn't dress up:

Dalton got to check out the real birds at the bird feeder outside:

Then we moved on...Easton always loves to hide in these lockers:

And Dalton always loves balls:

We moved on to the puppet theater (another of E's faves):

Dalton was not into their show:

After that Easton wanted to paint! I can never get him to paint at the museum. Just finishing up his "E":

His masterpiece:

Then we spent the rest of our time in the play area downstairs where you have to take off your shoes. Easton stuck his in a cubby and took off so I had Dalton still with me, what 14 month old doesn't love opening and closing cabinets and putting stuff inside?

In D's case he found a fire hat!

Eventually we made it over to play...
Strumming:

And trying to climb up the slope:

It's hard!

Easton went to climb a tree:

I have no clue who that woman is in the background.

Then it was time to go. We sure packed a lot of fun into an hour!

Dalton and Daddy outside the museum, you can see part of the Denver skyline in the backgroud as well as some of the taller things at Six Flags behind them:

I snapped that pic while we were waiting for Easton to finish climbing this cow:

Then we went to dinner at BD's Mongolian BBQ. My request. We had packed Easton a peanut butter and honey sandwich as Mongolian BBQ is not really up his alley. Diddles munched on some of our stuff, though.

The boys played, "Pee-yew! Stinky toes!" on the way home:

And since we'd had such an early dinner we went for a walk around the neighborhood as soon as we got home. Easton had mastered pedaling ('bout time!!!) and we're now working on steering:

When he finally figures all of it out we're thinking about getting him a real bike, perhaps sometime this summer. We'll see, though.

On Sunday I made pancakes for breakfast...E's request. Both boys ate a lot. Then I went off to check out the church J went to the previous week. I'm waiting to hear back from their main pastor on an "issue" we had and then we'll see. I emailed him last night so I'm honestly a little surprised I hadn't heard something yet. I'm sort of thinking he might have a side job or something...who knows?

I came home to the boys having their lunch and then they did quiet/naptime. Jason started on a bunch of yardwork and Easton got to join him for part of it. Then we buzzed both J's and E's heads. Easton gets his head buzzed regularly, but freaked out about it yesterday for, like, the first time ever. I couldn't help but laugh and be annoyed. The neighbors were staring! Okay, the 4 year old across the street--but still! After we were done Easton said, "I'm sorry I wasn't a good boy for my buzz buzz" and then I felt real bad. :( And then he said, "Maybe some day when I get bigger I can be a great man!" I told him I was sure he would be.

I was able to talk J into going out for dinner again because I got a regular bar-b-que craving. So off to Brothers BBQ it was. Once again the boys had to eat when we got home. They shared a sandwich bun while we were there but we thought they might have mac and cheese as a side dish. And they did not so, yeah, they shared some bread till we got home and could feed them something more substantial. Dalton's current favorite food is most definitely cottage cheese which is just fine with me. If that doesn't keep him on the charts with all the protein and fat, I don't know what will!

This morning was doughnuts...E ate just a few bites shy of 3 of them. Then we went to Blockbuster to exchange our Blockbuster-by-Mail movie. Easton got a Buzz Lightyear cartoon and he's upstairs watching it as part of his quiet time right now.

That's the scoop from here. Hope y'all had nice weekends, too!

So fun!!! That was a packed weekend! We had an entirely boring one (minus going to dinner one night), and it was kind of nice!

I think Easton's "fro" is pretty cute. And he looks pleased enough!

The spikey hair pictures are just adorable! I love Easton's smile in all of those!

That's awesome that he's got the pedaling down. I see he's sporting a fancy helmet too. :)

Now I'm curious about your "church issue". Hope you hear from the minister soon!

Yay for fun weekends!

Loved all the pictures from the weekend. The children's museum looks like so much fun, I wish we had one.

Sounds like the perfect family weekend!
