27 Pictures...and 5 Movies

That's what I have to tackle on this Monday afternoon. Always so daunting. But back to our...

Friday
Friday was our very rainy day and though we spent the morning out and about, we spent the afternoon at home. It started with baking some chocolate chip oatmeal cookies after quiet time:

Dalton got very mad at me that he couldn't eat any "nummy nummy!" until they were baked. Salmonella never sounded fun to me. We try to avoid it for the kids...so no raw eggs for them.

I think he was okay when they got to eat the finished product all warm from the oven:

After our sweet snack we moved on to an art project. While at JoAnn's recently Easton found some foam visors for $1. He picked out one for each of them and then Friday morning we went to find some foam stickers for them to put on their hats. Easton chose robots and Dalton chose football. So that was our next activity...making the hats:

Easton likes to speak in his robot voice saying, "I. Am. A. Robot." as he wears it. Dalton just shouts, "Bah Ball!"

We went upstairs to play and dance in E's room after that. The boys making their "Tackle Mommy!" faces:

He's got me!

We had some music on. The boys were dancing...and check out E in the background. I know I rave about his balance and stuff all the time. But you have to watch him:

His feet are dancing with him balanced on his head. Perhaps breakdancing lessons should be next?

We've already said he doesn't need any climbing lessons:

Sometime in the last couple weeks it became an official rule that Easton must always ask permission before he climbs. It was sort of unofficial before but he's getting more and more daring and we just have to make sure someone is always close by.

Jason went out for happy hour after work to bid farewell to a fired employee...so we sat down to dinner a little late that night. The boys helped clean up afterwards:

Saturday
Everyone but me slept in. I got up for the day at 5:30 after nursing Dalton. Oh well. It was going to be another very rainy day after giving up on trying to go back to sleep I came down here to read my new book from the 'brary.

Once everyone else woke up I made pancakes...some with some fun molds I found at Dollar Tree:

Before lunch we dressed in our warm clothes and braved the downpour to go to the Christian bookstore. I wanted to find the daily Bible that AJ and Adam have. We have a toddler Bible that Dalton brought from God when he was born :) but we don't read it daily. It'll be nice to have both books, though. We also picked up a couple of books for me and a 3 pack of CDs for the boys. Then we came home for lunch and quiet time.

Easton and Daddy set up the Thomas train in E's room again. So he did that. Dalton joined me on the couch for some Wiggles after he woke up:

We decided to order a pizza for dinner Saturday night. Even though we'd just gone out to Cracker Barrell on Thursday night or so. Nice! But we all like pizza. Dalton went with J to pick it up. How cute. I love when the boys eat a lot:

We topped off our dinner with some chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Yum yum.

Sunday
With Thomas set up in E's room he very much wanted us all to join him for a "Breakfast with Thomas" again like we did awhile ago, just me and the little guys. This time E wanted to make sure Daddy could join us. So we did:

Jason went to check out a church after that so the boys and I came down for an art project and listening to one of their new CDs:

Easton made a little foam fishie...but couldn't see that it was a fish profile. It only came with one eye and I explained it to him...or so I thought. He still chose to put the eye on the dorsal fin:

E went up to hang out with his Thomas some more while D and I danced and goofed around listening to our music:

Dalton had to have a time out for hitting me and couldn't really calm back down after it was over so I put him down for his nap a little early. Worked out well. And when the boys were up we took them to the ghetto mall to play for a bit:

Easton was looking at the "art" on the wall which features various woodland creatures particpating in a variety of outdoorsy activities...so as he surveyed the room we heard, "Sledding, climbing, swimming, flying...skunking." Ha ha ha ha ha! It was a skunk on a hike. We know it's not going to be funny to you readers but Jason was like, "You better blog that so we don't forget it." And there it is. Forever.

Somehow being on that part of town I was able to talk Jason in to eating out AGAIN. But first we killed a little more time stopping by Toys R Us to look at bikes. In the late spring when Easton was finally getting the hang of pedaling his tricycle we talked about getting him a real bike when he could pedal and steer at the same time and thought that would be good for his half birthday in July. Well, at that time he still didn't have a good grasp of pedaling and steering simultaneously so it didn't happen.

Now, he finally gets it. 'Bout time. And we want him to get a bike but there is ice on the ground for a good part of the winter. So it's a little silly to get a bike in the winter, like for Christmas or his birthday. We're thinking of doing it for a starting school type thing. I don't know for sure. But I do know he'll do fine on a bike:

He does fine on a 12" but the 14" was a little too big for him. He couldn't do it easily. But we're also thinking how quickly he might outgrow the 12". Such a dilemma. He definitely likes the Spiderman bike and helmet even though the one above is a Thomas. It was easier to adjust the seat for him on the Thomas bike. After TRU it was on to Sweet Tomatoes:

Jason mowed the lawn after we got home. Then he and E took a shower. I gave D a bath and let him play with some shaving cream. Well, Easton thought that was looking like a lot of fun so even though he just finished showering he hopped in the bath with D. Fun fun!

This morning was doughnut day and Wal-Marting. We came home and had lunch. I read to the boys from their daily Bible and as it was about creation it was perfect for Easton to recite his newly memorized (and very first!) Bible verse:

The boys moved on to their quiet time and I moved on to my 'puter time. I think we're going to walk up to the park here in a bit. Now that it's stopped raining here finally!

I love how you have your camera with you at all time. Do you have it on a string around your neck? J/K. But it pays off because you get such great pictures.

You are so creative with their food. I love the pancakes. And the new official rule will hopefully save some trips to urgent care.

I don't know if I have told you about the book the boy's have about the bible. But we absolutely love it. http://jjrm.wordpress.com/2007/08/29/this-childrens-book-is-amazing-2/ What books did you get for yourself? And what CD's for the boys? I'm curious :-)

Great memory verse. Again, I don't know if you saw this post but we got some great memory verse books from them. http://jjrm.wordpress.com/2008/01/12/scripture-memory/

That's all...lol.

Maybe Easton can work break dancing into his floor routine. LOL.

The I. Am. A. Robot. thing is Max and Ruby, right? We were at a "Meet the Baby" party this weekend and KayTar was walking in circles saying it over and over.
