Friiiiiiiiiiiday!

Woooo, the weekend! Gotta love Fridays.

But, first...the end of Thursday. Here is Mr. Gymnast in his new "costume":

And then after that, I started making my salsa. What a mistake. Just a few tomatoes in I was completely regretting the decision to buy the $15 bag of salsa ingredients. I'm a gringo. What was I thinking? Ugh. It took forever, my food processor isn't that big, it blended more than chopped. It was awful and took the entire afternoon after quiet time. Poor Easton was parked in front of the computer and Diddles was parked in front of the TV. I could see them both and talk to them, and then I watched Dalton climb onto the back of the couch. I went to get him down and he said, "Cheese!" so I had to get the camera first:

Jason was like, you can stop...but it was $15. I couldn't just throw that away without trying. Well, then the jalapeno burned my fingers over time. For the entire evening. And my eyeballs with my contacts this morning! Grrrr. I haven't even tried the salsa. I think I want to blend it more. Much more. But my is it ever pungent. Our house and fridge smell of it. It's quite strong.

Lesson learned. I will never attempt salsa again. Now, pico de gallo...Mmmmm. I make a great pico de gallo when I'm in the mood to chop (which is never). But salsa? We don't really even eat or use much salsa. I'm a moron.

After that entire ordeal it was then time for me to start our dinner. I'd planned on meatloaf. And then I discovered that I used up all the eggs on our French toast the night before. Ack! I called Jason with my burned fingers and two kids crying in the background and he saved the day by bringing home Chipotle. And without having to cook dinner I was able to devote all my attention to the boys again and everyone was much happier. I got them all warmed up for some Daddy attacks after dinner:

This morning was a good one. Boys in good moods...Easton going above and beyond my expectations. Good stuff.

We had some blueberry muffins and the boys played some tug of war:

After breakfast we headed out for the library. Dalton is obsessed with wanting to put on shoes, but he doesn't keep them on well. However, I put Easton's old Crocs on him and he was a happy camper:

He tried his best to wear them but they're too big and kept falling off. Poor kid kept sitting down on the way into the library to put his shoe back on or simply walking around holding one of them.

We got some books and movies and then headed to the regular grocery store for eggs for my meatloaf among other things. Easton knows the store's name so we'll pull up and he goes, "King Soopers! I want to ride in a car cart. Can we ride the horse?" Dalton knows what they have inside and begins shouting, "Cookie!!! Cookie!!!" because they give free cookies to the kids. Today we got our free cookie and all was well, till at the deli counter getting Jason some P.R.T. (that is a test to see if he read the blog or not. :) ) Anyway, Dalton choked on his cookie and subsequently yakked into my hand. I wasn't sure what my next step was. So, I wiped my pukey hand on his shirt, cleaned up with a wet nap from my purse and then removed Dalton's icky shirt and tied it's stinky self up in a produce bag. I crossed my fingers that the no shirt, no shoes, no service rule didn't apply to 1 year olds because at that point he was wearing just his diaper and shorts and a smile on his face.

An eldery woman smiled and asked, "Why did you take off his shirt?" and thinking fast I just said, "He spit up on it". Babies do that, right?

We came home for a macaroni and cheese lunch. Followed by the current quiet time. Not a bad day so far at all. Er, minus that pukey stuff.

We made muffins this morning too!

Gosh, I wish that while your kids were parked in front of the tv/computer that you would have been doing something more enjoyable than making salsa that you don't think will be too good. Bummer! Glad to see that Jason saved the day. Chipotle is one of our most favorites over here!

What size Crocs does Dalton need? Drew outgrew his first pair this summer in 5 weeks and you can have them if they will fit D.

I cannot tell you how many times I've hoped the same thing!

Produce bag...genius! Not sure if I would have thought of that one.

That's too bad about your salsa. I bet it still tastes good though. I'd be more than willing to take some off your hands if we lived nearby. I'm a salsaholic.

PTR is sounding pretty good to me right now. Yumm!

Evidently Jason DOES read the blog. Now we know your secret code. ;)

Oh, the places I have caught puke.

Hope the salsa is good. I loooove salsa, but I'm to lazy to make it. Let's be honest, I'm too lazy to make ANYTHING, really.

Good hubby, reading the blog. I think he needs to do a guest post. How did he like how clean Easton's room was for him?

Maybe one of your friends would like some salsa. Yummy! But you are right, sometimes it is just not worth the work.

I am often surprised but what people will offer to ask or say to a complete stranger. Maybe it's just me and being shy. Oh well.
