TGI Thursday

Our final swim class last night was great. But hardly anyone showed up for their report cards and stuff! Oh well. Easton was one half of his class and Diddles and J half of theirs as well. We got their report cards before anyone even got wet:

Naturally Easton got the same marks as last time. I'm really excited about signing him up for the next highest level next time!

Dalton's teacher has been in Hawaii for the last 3 classes, so she must've filled out the report cards before she left (she had various substitutes). And Dalton got an "excellent" on everything but "imitates bubble blowing". He didn't even get "good". He got "needs improvement".

I guess I'm not the teacher but if you ask me he would bubble blow a bit. Maybe it was in the 3 classes Rhianna wasn't there for. Oh well. If it actually mattered AT ALL I'm sure I could make my case tee hee. However I was delighted once again when I read, "You were so much fun to have in class, always so happy." That's my boy! The amazed substitute last night remarked to Jason how comfortable Dalton is in the water. She said, "Keep him in these kinds of classes...you never know, he might be the next Michael Phelps."

If people continue to mention Olympics and my kids any more (E and his gymnastic abilities) my head may very well get so big that it explodes. :)

Last night Diddles got to wear a life jacket for the first time. It helped that the vest itself was covered in his favorite Sesame Street characters. D had no problem floating around by himself:

He was sooooo cute! Here's some video of both boys from last night, actually:

What fun. And Easton slept great last night. Despite accidentally falling asleep during his quiet time (when I went in to get him out, he was sound asleep!) he was still tired from all his swimmming I guess. He went right to sleep (or was quiet at least) and slept till 7:59 this morning. Nice. Dalton was still down for another half hour.

So, I was a little out of sorts this morning. I forgot that I wanted to go register for gymnastics till we were on our way somewhere else. But as we left our neighborhood I remembered and we made a detour to go sign him up. There were spots! Yay! So he's enrolled in two sessions of gymnastics.

Then we drove to the grocery store for some doughnuts and water and ate it in the back seat of the car in the grocery store parking lot! But we had plans...we went to Elitch's. On my foot!

We bought some Broncos tickets off of Rachel and Summer's dad...and he works downtown so I was going to go pick them up but needed more of an excuse to drive all the way downtown for tickets we're not personally even going to use (J's officemate Rob is going to use them with Kaiden). So, Elitch's it was!

We didn't stay long, that was the plan. And first stop, carousel as usual. Easton wanted to ride in their chariot thing this time:

Dalton, however, had his sights set on a horsey. He was too cute:

I love that boy more and more the older he gets. He's so great. They both are, of course, but Dalton is just really developing a cool personality. I feel like I already know Easton, but toddlerhood has taught me a lot about who my youngest boy is...and who he might become.

Anyway, Easton in his chariot giving us a wave:

Then it was on to E's roller coaster. People must be getting in their final hurrah's before school starts or something because the lines were insane. We had to wait for so long. Finally it was E's turn. I told him he could stay on all 3 times it goes around, that if the boy he was riding with wanted to get off (like the last time) that he could stay on. And sure enough, after one round, some kids in the back got off. After two rounds, the kid next to Easton got off...and E stayed on like he wanted to. They were half way up the first hill for their third and final trip, Dalton and I were all set to wave as we babysat E's hat:

When all of a sudden the kids went slowly backwards back down the hill. I'd heard a kid cry...knew it wasn't my kid. The ride operator got all the kids off. Easton was the last one. He looked all kinds of confused and said, "I didn't get to go 3 times". I asked another mom what the deal was and she said, "Someone took off their seat belt which cuts the power...I think it was your son."

'Scuse me?!?!

Uh unh, she did not go there.

I was like, "What? I doubt it." Of course, I didn't know for sure. Easton said he didn't, he said, "No, it was one of my other kids". I wasn't sure what to do. I hung around for a bit debating on whether or not to ask the ride operator who it was. If on the off chance it was my usually safety conscious child, well, then I wasn't about to let him ride another ride without me where he might do it again. But I highly highly doubted it was Easton. I mean, if a kid DID undo the buckle, don't you think the ride operator would get that kid off the ride first...because he'd be unbuckled and might try to climb out? But Easton was the last one off. However I was like, "Maybe that was his punishment?" I just don't know.

I was all annoyed at that mom who said that to me. I kept wanting to go, "What makes you think it was this sweet, little, innocent boy here?" Okay, I know he's not always innocent, but she didn't need to know that ha ha ha. Instead, with my gut telling me it really wasn't Easton. And Easton telling me rather believably that it wasn't him I decided to just remind him that seat belts stay on and we went to ride something else.

Hopefully now that I've blogged about it I'll be able to let it go. I just hate that I'll never know for sure what happened that fateful morning... :)

We did the "Around the World in 80 Seconds" all together and then moved on to Dalton's first trip in the free fall bus. He held on so tight:

But mostly his obsession was with the large stuffed Cookie Monster prize he could see at one of the midway games. Every time we were at the top he'd shout "Cookie!"

Easton has always loved this ride and it's been out of order our last few trips so he was excited to get to go again:

I let E pick one more ride and then we'd have to go meet Rachel and Summer's dad at his office. He picked the swings:

Dalton isn't tall enough for it at Elitch's so he had to sit it out:

And then Easton noticed a big Batman prize so I told him I'd take his picture with the hero:

I wish naptime wasn't so soon after Elitch's opens. I always want to spend more time there than we're really able to. At least we have the pass and don't feel like it's a waste of money when we're only there for an hour and a half.

Next time we go, I hope it's not so crowded. Yowsa.

I think we have plans to go out to dinner tonight. Hope the boys do better than they did at Applebee's last week!

Sounds like a fun day. Glad you remembered about gymnastics. And Dalton was so cute floating.

Broncos tickets, eh? Which game are you going to? It'd be fun to go to a Chiefs/Broncos game together sometime. As long as it's at Arrowhead of course. :) haha

Your boys are doing so great with swimming. What aren't they great at?!

Another fun day at the amusement park. I also enjoy seeing how Dalton's personality is developing. He's such a sweet boy. They both are.

I like watching Dalton grow up, too. I miss the baby stage, but he really seems to be becoming a funny little character!

Looks like a fun day. I don't think Eastie pulled his belt either. He's a pretty honest kid, right? He probably would have told you eventually, if it was him. I wouldn't worry about that nosey lady. It was probably HER kid and she was just covering. ;)
