One Week Later...

...the pretty colors are fading--they're not quite as faded as this picture makes them look--but they're fading. The swelling is pretty much gone and I'm walking nearly pain free if I'm taped and in my boot. At this point--in the boot--it's not slowing me down at all. Without the boot I'm still slower. The things that hurt now are from the boot itself and the compensating I have to do. Like the top of my foot gets sore from where the straps go, I got a blister on my heel from where it rubs (nothing a Batman band-aid can't fix), and the outside of my foot is getting sore because that is wear I bear my weight now when I walk...to keep any pressure of the ball of my foot. If I was to walk completely normally then yeah, the ball of my foot still hurts.

I think I'm going to aim for the minimum of his recommended 2-4 weeks in the boot. But we'll see for sure in another week. I'm actually surprised it's feeling as good as it is.

AND, I didn't even know it was gonna rain--so no arthritis yet hee hee.

But thank goodness for the rainy overcast morning. It meant Easton slept until 8:15. This time he remembered he could call at 8. :) And Dalton slept till 9 or 9:15. Whoa.

It's nice to be a little slow to get started in the morning sometimes. We decided to go out for breakfast. Easton finished up showing his elephant how to play Batman on the computer while I photographed my foot above:

Then Dalton wanted in on some pics too:

Just look at how chilly it is here today--51 degrees in the middle of August!

(I like how my camera is all snobby and made sure it is in focus in that picture and nothing else.)

It seemed like the kind of morning to spend curled up next to the fire. So we headed to Atlanta Bread where they always have a fire going (see it above D's head):

Blueberry muffin and chocolate croissant. Yum yum!

After that we hit the library. For probably the first time we actually went to the juvenile section with call numbers and got some fun books on dinosaurs, bats, and gymnastics. And Easton found one he really really wanted about WWII aircraft. :) Then we went back to our normal juvenile section which is just alphabetical with more of the books my boys are used to. We picked out a few there as well. And Easton was set on finding a Batman movie. I was like, "Honey, I don't know if they'll have one." He said, "I'm going to ask someone". But instead of asking, say, a librarian he went and queried a family reading nearby! Ha ha ha! I started to browse the movie shelves myself and pulled off a Dr. Seuss thing when lo and behold, a Batman movie was revealed when I took Seuss off the shelf. A certain someone was very very excited and wanted to go straight home for quiet time so he could watch. I was able to talk him out of it for a little longer.

So he and Dalton played around for a bit instead:

I know it's blurry but look at that goober launching himself off the steps:

Not sure if that's proper library etiquette or not. Actually I made him stop after that.

Diddles found a frog to play with and played with his mouth and told it to say, "Cheese!"

After the library we went to the Dollar Tree. AJ and Adam had a cool mini chalkboard we wanted but we didn't find one. Oh well. The boys got some new books instead. Including this one for D:

Then we headed to the craft store for some more parts for a project we'll do this afternoon. I turned around to see my boys holding hands. Sometimes they just do that. I was glad I was able to snap a picture:

And then we came home. I dumped our new pile of books on E's bed for his quiet time:

His favorite is his new Spiderman and Friends book from the dollar store, though:

However I was able to get him into some "Where's Waldo?" with me.

And we took a little self-portrait:

Then I had to get one of Diddles too, while Easton did some quiet time:

I'm excited it's the weekend. We were originally planning on a mountain getaway this weekend with my mom and Lauren but with my injury and Lauren not able to get off work we've postponed it for another time. Wouldn't want to be anywhere but home on this rainy afternoon, though. I think we're gonna bake cookies and do our craft.

More pictures to come of that later, I'm sure.

Have a great weekend!

Sweet pic of D sleeping! Makes him look like Baby Diddles again. Also love the one with his face sticking through the book. That one made me giggle.

I may have to get a black chair if for no other reason than to use it for pictures. I love how yours always look so nice with the black background...be it your swollen, bruised foot or a smiley pic of Dalton. :)

I can't believe it was 51 there today! Wasn't it just 100 a couple of weeks ago?! Craziness!

And woo hoo for sleeping in. Soooo nice. It was a sleep in day for us as well.

What a fun day. I think I have seen that book that D got. It may be at my parents house.

That picture of the temp cracked me up. That you would think to take a picture in the rearview mirror, very creative.

I can't believe how late the boy's are sleeping. And too bad about your foot because those could be some nice walks. Maybe a little sleeping in yourself.

I'm glad your foot is feeling lots better!! I wish our library had more of a play area. It's kinda boring and you feel like you need to be really quiet . . . hard to do with kids! Looks like you got an awesome haul of books! I even recognize some of them:)

Your foot does look like it is healing pretty well!

Dalton is so cute! You got a couple of great shots of him today, personality-wise. He just seems like a lot of fun.

Those jumps are just CRAZY. Easton blows my mind. We were at my parents for my dad's birthday dinner, watching the gymnastics on the Olys and I told them about Eastie, KayTar's olympic-hopeful friend. Heehee! Here's to 2020.

OMG, 51 degrees! Is it normal for the weather to drop so low in the Summer? I can't wait for our temp's to drop lower, I am sick of this 100 degree heat.
