During quiet time today I ended up getting caught up on the phone with a friend and then doing quite a bit of emailing. I figured I'd have the chance to blog tonight like I'm doing because there's nothing good on TV and J's busy with school this term.

So, first let's back track to yesterday. I had mentioned that E was a bit of a brat at the park playdate yesterday. Again, not that he was really all that bad, because "bad" for Easton is "good" for many kids. But he only got worse as the day went on. We went to the grocery store and I got him a free cookie. I broke off a teeny piece for Dalton and Easton threw a fit about having to share. So I took away the entire cookie--until he calmed down. And then I gave it back when he was being polite and civilized again. He quickly ate the cookie and as we made our way over to dairy he stuck his entire upper body out the car cart window and screamed, "Dalton is just a little baby! He doesn't eat cookies!!!" Smart boy. Because his cookie was already in his tummy and couldn't be taken away permanently. He continued to be a punk during our short trip and then refused to walk normally to the car. He wanted to stay at the store so I basically had to force him to come with me. It wasn't pretty. Was he just having an off day? Was it the playdate? I just don't know.

He was better for a bit when Daddy got home. While I cooked dinner Jason watched the boys wrestling together on the floor. It started when Dalton pinched Easton on the cheek, Easton went to tweak him back and they ended up on the floor. But it was friendly:

Sesame Street caught their attention and they just stayed their to watch:

For dinner I had made quesadillas. I dished up some for Jason and I and left some warming on the griddle. Or so I thought. Instead of turning the heat off, I turned it all the way up and scorched the poor tortillas. Good thing we were full after our first round. I was so embarassed, though.

This morning we woke up to thunder and rain. Easton didn't start the day in the best of moods. By 9:00 a.m. he had already tucked himself back into bed three times, burned his hand on the toaster (which he's always very careful with), and spent 3 minutes in the naughty corner for screaming at me about his waffle. Good thing he got better.

Easton still asked to go outside in the rain. So I let him. Poor kid with his 2T shirts all getting too short now:

Once he got too cold from wet clothes he came in and we got dressed. We went to the library for a bit:

We left because they couldn't remember to use their inside voices.

It was still raining and we were already out so I made a spur of the moment decision to go to Target. While we were there, Easton made the first insulting observation of his life, I believe. He said, "Mama, look at her big butt!" But he didn't say it meanly. He simply said it as the true statement it was. How do you handle such things? I don't think Big Butt heard, but I took him over a few aisles and said that next time he should whisper it to Mommy. Jason was like, "Tell him we don't talk about people" but I was all, "But we do!" :) Then Jason said, "He's noticing the ba-donka-donks." Which was very amusing to me.

We eventually made it over to the toy aisles. Dalton was screaming to try to get me to give him stuff off the shelves. It was not working. Well, that's not true. I did give him a ball to hold for a bit:

Easton was great, though, and would even run ("so fast!") to get the ball when D would throw it:

Whipping out his "binoculars" when we were searching for a particular toy:

We got home and did lunch. Dalton was mostly a grump. I took this cute pic, though:

And this movie:

We didn't end up doing much this afternoon. Just waiting for Daddy to get home and making dinner.

So, I guess that's it from today. Till next time...

Oh! I loved that video of Dalton! My favorite was "Please". So cute!

Poor E, having an off couple of days. The other night KayTar was having a COW about the Oreos. We pretty much let her eat whatever/whenever she will, but she had been getting Oreos out, taking a single bite, and then getting out a new Oreo. So we cut her off. LOL. She was NOT happy. She throws fits sometimes, but usually we can redirect, this time she just would not let up...even after being given a time out in her room. I was sure she was getting sick because it was so out of character for her, but nope. Just an off evening.

I love the wrestling pics! That's what being brothers is all about. Apparently Matt and his brother wrestled almost every day of their childhood.

Adam has had a couple of "off" days this week as well. Not very fun.

And he's also made 2 very embarassing (but true!) observations in public. One of which was overheard. I wanted to die!

LOL about "big butt". HAHA! They pick up so much. It really does amaze me. They are so little yet know so much.

Sounds like everyone's 3 year old has been off. Mine too. It hasn't been fun at all.

Loved the wrestling pics, especially that last one. I think I have said this before, not sure, but your 2 remind me so much of my 2. The closeness and everything.

Oh, and loved that video of D. He is talking well!
