It's Monday Again

We had a decent enough weekend. Once Jason finally came home from work on Saturday we headed out to dinner at Applebee's. Easton had a free meal coupon from his summer reading program that needed to be used. However, from all this time inside with their illness and now my injury, they were not on their best restaurant behavior. I was thinking and I don't remember the last time we all went out to eat at a real restaurant just the 4 of us. I think before my birthday at Red Robin. And then right when we got back from Vegas but Casa Bonita doesn't count because you don't really eat there and there is plenty of entertainment and loudness. So, perhaps the boys were simply out of practice or something but they were both so loud. And Easton just had all this energy he didn't know what to do with, he could hardly sit still. For some reason Applebee's was particularly quiet that Saturday evening so we got plenty of "looks" from others. I hate that.

I think Dalton is growing. He slept from 7:30 Saturday night till after 9:30 Sunday morning. And I had to wake him from his 3 hour nap yesterday!

On Sunday Jason had to do more work, but from home. The boys and I watched a little TiVo'd Olympics...Easton had been enjoying the "Who's gonna win?" swimming races and we wanted to let him see the men's gymnastics. It was China's turn and like many sterotypical honkey's he thought every Asian guy looked the same...he kept thinking it was the same dude. So then I started telling him the guy's name each time, so he'd know they were different individuals. He thinks gymnastics is super cool. He kept saying, "I want to watch another one" after each event. And he even wanted me to rewind it so he could watch it again. He so wants to learn how to do that stuff and we are going to let him! I hope to check out the rec center's gymnastics stuff sometime this week and see if he wants to sign up, I'm afraid it'll go like art class, however, and so at the same time I'm hesitant. It would start at the very beginning of September. He'll have recently started preschool and so it might be too much to ask of him with all the separating from Mommy, so we'll just wait and see, I guess.

After we watched the Olympics it was clear that we needed to get the boys out of the house. Too much energy. So, J stayed here to work from home and I took the boys up to McDonald's. I thought it was a good place for them to play but me not to have to be chasing them around or pushing them on swings or anything. My blue boot is getting me all kinds of sympathy because as we were leaving McDonald's a gentleman from as far away from our chosen door as possible hopped up shouting, "I'll get the door for you!!!!" So I had to let him even though we could totally managae on our own. Heck, Easton was the one opening the second door for me. :) How nice, though. By the way, Dalton had his very first tastes of McD's fries...he is such a fan now.

But that was just his snack...for lunch we came home and made faces again:

Then both boys took a nap. Easton's back in a bit of a testy phase right now, so the nap was nice and probably a little needed. After we woke him up (and D was still asleep) Jason took E to the park on his tricycle.

Then they mowed the lawn.

Usually a lawn buzz is followed by J's weekly head buzz. However, this week Dalton wanted in--he was patting his head, trying to climb up into the chair and trying to remove his shirt. They're always shirt-less for buzz's. So we let him have another hair cut. He looks cute all freshly shorn. When we came inside waiting for D and Daddy to go take a shower to get all the hair off, Easton grabbed on to Diddles saying, "Take our picture!"

I was bummed that I had the settings wrong because that picture is not crisp like I want. :(

After Dalton's shower I let him run around nakey for awhile. And E put on jammies and said, "Take a picture of my triceratops jammies!"

Mr. Nakey, feeling modest for the camera:

Out of sympathy for me, I'm sure, Dalton discovers he's somehow injured his toe and is bleeding:

Easton ran up to get him a Batman band-aid and we put it on his toe but he hated it and wanted it O-F-F so we had to try to distract him and get him to walk around with it on.

So, E called him over for a hug:

It worked! He moved on:

Then Jason came back down and the first thing he did was put a diaper on Mr. Nakey. Party pooper.

Today was doughnut day and Starbucks day. I needed milk for Dalton and knew that at Starbucks they would both have the whole milk and understand my request over the drive-through speaker. I couldn't count on either at Krispy Kreme. We came home and each boy ate a lot.

Then we went out to Wal-Mart. I was not looking forward to it with my foot. Easton was pushing hard for me to get a ride-on scooter but I told him I had too many kids for that. That he'd have to walk because I'd have to hold Dalton. When he realized that meant he couldn't help drive he was like, "Well maybe he could ride in the basket". I said "But it's small and there would be no more room for our groceries". So instead I had to tough it out and walk the whole store and then some. :) Poor me, right? Actually it really is more sore now.

After a lunch of Dora "Backpack" Spaghetti-O's and toast, both boys are napping. I hate when E gets in these cycles...he's napping because he stayed up too late last night thanks to his nap yesterday. So today's nap will have to be short and he'll hopefully tire himself out a bit at swimming so that bedtime will be normal again and he won't have to nap tomorrow.

I admit the extra quiet is nice, and not having to walk upstairs with this sore foot to get his puzzles down for him or remind him not to sing so loud and such. But all good things must come to an end, right?

Like this post. :)

Toodles!

oh, I just LOVE the pic of "modest D." LOL. SO so cute!

Milk that sympathy you're getting from your blue foot. It won't last long, haha!

My goodness! I always think my Seth is a little monkey until I see Easton climbing. Is there anything that boy cannot climb. LOL

That has to be the cutest little butt! Love the smooshiness and the baby cellulite.

It's funny how much you take a foot for granted until it is broken. I be that is hard walking and going up and down stairs. I hope the pain goes away and it heals nicely.

Those pictures are so cute. And my Jason would have put a dipey on too. I think it makes them to nervous. But Jason may have to see more of that soon since Micah is showing signs of potty training. Go figure.

hehehe at D being all modest!!! So cute! You better start taking it easy on that toe! I have gotten those looks before too so I can totally commiserate. As much as I love eating out it's often easier to stay home. Although, as weird as it sounds it's gotten easier to eat out with three than it was with one. Matthew was such a monkey when he was little!

I absolutely love the nakey Dalton pictures. And the fact that he now has an "injured" toe as well.

You were so brave to do a Walmart trip with your injured foot and both boys. Glad you survived to tell the tale.

The picture of the boys hugging is cute, even though it's a bit blurry. Nothing like brotherly love.
