We haven't left the house since Tuesday morning, that's nearly a record for us and we're actually having fun rather than going crazy. Yippee. And think of the money we're probably saving too. And gas...
Today the boys are on the stuffier side of things. Before they had clear runny noses and today they're both having to breathe through their mouths.
And poor Easton, he slept till after 8. I was amazed at 8:30 that I hadn't heard from him. Around 8:45 I realized I was hearing him...but he was being so very quiet. I went in to check on him and he said, "My clock won't change to 7!" Awww, poor guy, he was sitting there waiting. I though he knew that 7 or 8 was okay to call for us. Just not 6. :) Or 5!!!
I didn't even shower today. I usually put E in my bed with his juice and a TV show while I shower. But today he asked me to snuggle him instead and held his little arms open to me. So we snuggled in front of Blue's Clues instead. We're not leaving the house, I might shower later. I couldn't pass up the snuggles. No way.
Anyway, because we haven't left the house in two days, that should tell you we didn't go to swimming last night. Actually, when it came down to it, I was going to take Easton and sick J and D were going to stay home. Easton was even in his little trunks and Crocs all ready to take off after dinner. But it was raining. And lightening. So I called the rec center and indeed no one was allowed in the pool. Well that decided it. Since Easton was all dressed to get wet he asked if he could go play in the rain. So we let him. He ran around for a bit, splashed in a few puddles and said, "My shoes are wet":
Well, duh, child...you're playing in the rain.
Instead of swimming we had fun playing at home. I can't decide if I want Easton to watch gymnastics in the summer Olympics coming up or not. Don't want him getting too many more ideas. We've already got this on our hands:
And this:
Peek-a-boo!
Today the boys didn't eat much breakfast. I attributed it to their very stuffy noses.
But lunch was another story. I told Easton I was going to surprise them with lunch and I made them faces on their plates. Shredded cheese hair, raisin mouths, banana slice noses...you get the picture. Easton (and Dalton) gobbled it all up. Easton requested, "Another face please! With peanut butter hair, a cherry nose, and a pickle mouth." Coming right up! He ate 4 different faces for his lunch. Pretty good for a sickie. Dalton didn't care so much about the faces and ate mostly crackers instead.
I'm trying a new Crock Pot mac and cheese recipe for tonight...hope they gobble that up too...and Jason for that matter, he's quite picky about his mac and cheese. So am I, to tell you the truth.
Just in case things don't work out with the macaroni I'm also making a pie. I very rarely make dessert and if I do it's usually brownies because that's what J likes. I'm looking forward to checking out both new recipes tonight.
Until next time...

what a little monkey E is!! And how creative are you with those super cute fod faces?! Love it!
E is an excellent climber. I would be afraid with him that high but he looks like he has everything under control. And those diving somersaults, wowee!
I hope the mac n cheese turns out. If not, I am sticking with velvetta. And a pie too, you are the "wo"man!
What no KD?? lol You are brave not going out! We've had "at home" but those are usually crazy!! And the next day we go out for sure! I've heard of climbing the walls but wow Easton! He takes it literally!! You have a monkey on your hands for sure!
Oh, let us know how the recipe turns out!
I love that Eastie got to play in the rain.
And kudos to you for making face food...I have yet to do that --probably because by the time I make that many faces the kids will have starved to death ;)
I love to watch Easton climb. Have I told you I used to do that? Except I was like 7...not 3. Matt watched it too and was asked "What happens if he falls?" and then he did kinda fall at the end, but it didn't seem to phase him at all.
It's so funny to me to see how different kids this age excel at different things. I don't think Adam could run and do a flip like that...he's just not coordinated in that way. I love how Easton was singing the Batman song prior to his flipping.
Cute cracker faces! I will definitely be stealing this idea!
Please let us know about the crock pot mac 'n cheese. I love crock pot recipes. What kind of pie did you make? Was it tasty?
Tell J I'm sorry for another blog on the comments section again. hehe
E's wall climbing truly amazes me. I don't think at any point in my life I could have done that, or would have thought to do that?
Love the food faces idea - gonna borrow that one!
I too am looking forward to the crock pot mac-n-cheese review.
WOW! I'm so impressed with Easton! I even called Josh over this morning while he was getting ready for work to watch it. Next to KayTar, who can't even go up stairs like a normal kid, Super Climbing Eastie is mind blowing!
I hope your boys get well soon!
