Last night we had my mom and sisters over for a farewell dinner. Lauren and my mom left for California first thing this morning. I made sloppy joes per Lauren's request and we got her a cake:
My kids are apparently allergic to having company, however, because on Sunday it was Dalton who yakked. This time it was E. As I mentioned he'd been running a fever but we weren't quite sure what it was from. He wasn't quite himself, snuggling all sweetly with Gramoo while Jessica made a Mii:
Apparently he started getting kinda squirmy and got up and was walking towards the kitchen when he puked on the tile floor. Poor fella. My mom offered to give him his bath, Jason and I cleaned up and I went on to finish up dinner. Easton seemed FINE after it all happened. We made him rest on the couch but he was asking for ice cream cake. After it had been an hour since his vomiting, we let him have a couple of popsicles. See how healthy he looks minus the green popsicle mouth?
After dessert it was time to say goodbye. :( We took one last shot of the sisters all in the same state:
Then we exchanged teary goodbyes. Lauren giving Dalton a hug:
It was sad. We're really going to miss her. To answer a previous question of AJ's...no Lauren doesn't know anyone out there in Hollywood or at the school. I'm so proud of her for being so big and brave, it's got to be scary but I know she'll do well.
Easton was a bit of a butt when saying goodbye. He flat out didn't want to bid her adieu, I guess. I know he was sick but he was refusing to give Lauren hugs. :( I hope she understands. He's not great at goodbyes. Some people are like that.
So they left and the boys went to bed. Easton made it all the way till 2:45 a.m. or so when he called for water. Then called again to go potty. Then for more water. Then to puke. Oh no! Amazingly he called for me and I arrived just in time to catch it with the trash can by his bed. Since that instance at about 3:30 this morning he's been fine, hungry even. We're taking it slow because Dalton's illness sure lasted a few days where we'd think he was better but then wasn't.
He was rearing to go this morning, asking to play on the Wii. Here he is ski jumping:
I ran upstairs briefly to help J shave his head and left the boys with the Wii. When I came down Easton was on the counter setting the timer. Apparently Dalton had hit him and he gave him a time out...sure enough, Dalton was sitting in the corner. Hilarious! We were thoroughly amused.
Then Jason took the boys to the park in their golf cart since it's a beautiful day here today. I went to the grocery store kid-free. As a stay at home mom, I usually bring the kids with me. I don't mind. They're good little shoppers for the most part. I prefer shopping with the kids versus running out in the evenings to shop alone. But it's still nice to go without them every once in awhile although it felt "off"...I even bought the wrong kind of diapers. And I forgot stuff! Crazy. I guess those little dudes help me even more than I know. :)

I LOVE the green teeth - ha! :) Hope everyone gets to feeling better at your house.
Welcome to California Lauren! And don't worry, you will get used to driving in our crazy Los Angeles traffic soon enough.
Wishing Lauren all the best of luck. I hope she has a great experience on the West coast.
As close as I am with my brother, reading all your sister posts and seeing all these sister pictures really makes me wish I had a sister of my own (in addition to Alex of course)!
We just said a sad Goodbye to our Mimi this morning so we know how you feel. What school is Lauren going to?
