Easton's Birthday Party

Photobucket
I can post that now that it's past and I don't have to worry about more uninvitees showing up. ;) Yes, that was an issue I was stressing about last week.

So anyway, we rented a room at one of the rec centers to have a small, shortish party followed by swimming in their super cool "aquatics area". They've got slides and a lazy river and a toddler area and a family hot tub and all sorts of cool stuff. It wasn't quite as cool as the Great Wolf Lodge but it was darn close. Especially for a rec center and not a vacation destination.

Sadly we don't have many good pictures of the event. We have a few from the party room but none from swimming. Oh well.

Here's the room...I didn't know it was going to be Batman yellow! We set up a table for the kids with a special spot at the head for Easton:

As people came in they grabbed some snacks and drinks and just hung around and looked at each other while we waited for others to arrive. I should've planned that a little better with an activity we could do while we waited for stragglers but oh well. My mom helped me out a ton by coming up with some game ideas and bringing all the stuff we'd need for them. When Isaac walked in, Dalton greeted him with a giant hug. It was so cute and I was so surprised to see it. Dalton's not normally walking around hugging people but he must have some strong feelings about Isaac.

First we played Hullabaloo for a bit which was fun. Easton was in a great mood. Then we did a "Stomp the Bad Guys" balloon stomp:

My mom had a fun game where you suck air through a straw to hold a picture to the end of the straw and move it from place to place. She sweetly print and cut out Batman images from her computer and brought recycled cottage cheese containers to move Batman from his "batcave" (the container) to "Gotham City" (the lid). The kidlets had fun with that one:

He's right in front of a window so the flash didn't go off.

We were gonna play some more games, Moo had at least a few more in her bag of tricks but people kinda moved back to the snacks so we went with it....Easton and Kaiden:

Little John, Isaac, and Issac's little brother, Caleb:

Little John and Dalton having some sort of conversation or staring contest, I dunno:

Then as we were going to run out of time we'd resevered the room for we had to move onto presents. Brock, who is certainly the class rascal in Mrs. M's class was there to "help" Easton every step of the way:

And made sure Ellis couldn't get too close:

Bunch of goobers, look at Dalton sitting so big and patiently next to his Bubba:

Isaac again:

When Easton thanked Brock for the gift he'd brought, Brock clapped Easton over the shoulder and said, "No problem, Little Buddy." I was highly amused.

This one clearly gets Jason's thumb of approval:

I think it's so funny that I caught that on camera.

Sadly this is the very best picture I have of the day. Easton is about to get to have his birthday cupcakes.

We sang to him:

And then we sent our guests towards the locker rooms. My poor kids had to stick with us while we loaded all our stuff into the car and Gramoo cleaned up the room for us. Thanks so much for your help, Moo!

Finally it was time for us to hit the pool as well. We had a blast. Easton never ever got cold which was probably a first but also because he was never still. That kid is a fearless lunatic in the water. He thinks he can swim and he can...he just can't tread water yet so when it's deep and he needs a break you'd better hope you're close by. Not like he thinks to stay close by. Goober. I'm glad he had so much fun. Moosie watched Dalton for us for most of the time so that we could take turns with E, visit with D and chat with our guests as well.

As soon as we got in the car the boys fell asleep. We drove around for a bit to let them nap and then went to Noodles for dinner again. After the long morning of party prep, the time spent at the party, Jason didn't want to see me having to make dinner at the end of the day so we went out which was nice. The boys were grumpy but starving and we ran out of food! We came home for cupcakes to fill their bellies and then it was off to bed.

What a fun celebration for our favorite four year old!

Looks like a GREAT party! I think I'm going to check into rec centers in our area for K's party...she would love a pool party!

What a great party! That looked like so much fun! I still cannot believe he is already 4. Our babies are not babies anymore.

I think Moo is the real superhero, coming through with all those fun games for the kids. Way to go, Moosie!

Sounds like a very fun party. Once again I'm totally jealous that you have such neat places like that where you live. Glad Eastie had such a fantastic time turning 4!
