Easton is 4!!!

He's had a wonderful time the past couple days celebrating being 4. We started Thursday night with some all-important prep work. He had a portrait session scheduled in the morning so he started with getting a fresh buzz:

Followed by a manly shower:

And a shave:

Then it was time for bed and when he woke up, he was suddenly FOUR! We let him open one present in the morning:

Dalton looked on:

Unfortunately for E, we chose which present would be his first:

He needed something to wear for his four year old photo shoot:

Usually Jason takes off work on the family members' birthdays. But this year he had to go in in the morning for a meeting with a biggish-wig. So we had to say goodbye:

Here's E at exactly 8:08 a.m. The exact moment he was born four years prior:

Then we got dressed and headed to McDonald's for pancakes, E's choice:

We played there for a bit after eating and then it was off to Target for Easton's appointment. He did so well. There was not a single bad picture which made it hard to choose when all was said and done. Oh well. We roamed the toy aisles while we waited for the photographer to put up the pictures:

I made my choices and then asked Easton what he wanted to do next since he was the birthday boy. He said, "I want to go sit on that bench."

Snuggle!

Then he wanted to go to the park but it was just too cold so instead he wanted to play the Wii with Batman:

He actually had Batman wearing the controller and on the balance board for a bit!

Next we viewed a view E cards and birthday messages on the computer:

Not long after that Daddy came home bearing Easton's favorite lunch: mac and cheese from Noodles! Dalton was waaaaaay too cranky to eat with us and went straight down for his nap. The rest of us ate and then played just about every game E has: dominos, Candy Land, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Elefun, and Hi Ho Cherry Oh. Photobucket

We even got fancy with the dominos:

After awhile E and J moved on to play some Batcave and I actually fell asleep on the couch! Those early mornings with Carson catching up with me. :)

Once Dalton woke up Easton finally got to open the rest of his presents:

He unwrapped the Hullabaloo game, a Diego game for his Leapster, a few cards, Dalton gave him some new accessories for his Batcave... The Maws sweetly sent a little something for Diddles: an Elmo's world DVD:

And Easton got a new costume...an LSU Tiger football uni:

Dalton even knows "Go Tigers!" when he sees the logo:

And after that...Easton got to go on a bit of a treasure hunt. He can't read yet but our clues were pictures of things around the house. But they weren't completely obvious pictures...

Like that there is one of them...it's a corner of the toybox. So he went there for his next clue which included part of the fridge. Then onto a zoomed in image of his Spiderman costume and then a picture of the cat door which really tripped him up for awhile. Finally he was able to peek through the cat door and see his surprise (that we didn't want to wrap, hence the need for the hunt): a Spiderman big boy bicycle!

But we'd been in the house long enough: time to head out for some fun! We went to a place nearby called JungleQuest.

It's a supercool place for daredevil's like E as it's outfitted with ziplines and climbing walls and such. So first we had to get fitted with harnesses:

Then we were off:

Dalton is not quite as brave so he stuck in the toddler area with rope bridges:

And caves with diorama's to look at:

And steps to climb:
Photobucket

That part was pretty lame but E still wanted to check it out too:

Then he moved back to things 4 year olds like to do:

After our hour and a half was up at JungleQuest we headed over to Sweet Tomatoes...Easton's choice. He was really in the mood for their strawberry lemonade but both boys ate well. We came home and Easton got to have a bubble bath all by himself. He hasn't gotten one in quite some time thanks to Dalton and his eczema (which has been better). Dalton got put to bed while E stayed up a tiny bit late for his bath and extra snuggles from Mom and Dad.

We are so proud of our big four year old boy and tried to give him a very special day. His birthday party with his friends was today and that was great too but I need to tackle that one another time...plus the camera is still in the car. That's how wiped we are. Till then...

What a super fun birthday! I love the treasure hunt that you guys did and Jungle Quest has to be the coolest place ever. My jaw dropped when I saw Easton on that big swing. I don't know if we could convince Adam to do something like that at 14, let alone 4!

So glad he had such an awesome day. 4 sure looks like TONS of fun!!!
