How Awesome is Gramoo?

You don't need to answer that. This post will.

She rocks. She was here Friday to help out with my first full day of bed rest, as I'd mentioned. And she was here Monday. Bright and early with Lauren in tow.

Jason hadn't even left for work yet and she arrived armed with food and activities and plans! First step was continuing our doughnut Monday tradition. She took Dalton (E didn't want to go) through the drive-through and filled up our car with gas in case I need to make it to Boulder all of a sudden.

She came back and we all ate. They played with the boys. She brought a few puzzles from home which they were totally into. They took my kids to the park in their golf cart. Gramoo emptied my dishwasher and prepared one of my favorite lunches: her delicious chicken salad on a croissant with sides of chips, strawberries, and fruit dip.

She and Easton then went to work on that "Dirt" dessert you've all seen with the pudding "mud", Oreo crumb "dirt", and gummi worms. Dalton was freaking out a bit about the worm part and refused to help make it but eventually realized they were just pretend candy worms and even ate some of one. Way to face your fears, little guy!

The boys were fed lunch as well and then she got Dalton off for his nap before getting to work on our Crock Pot fajita dinner. Meanwhile, Lauren and I worked and worked at figuring out how to transform E's new Bumblebee. Then she and Gramoo watched some shows with E during the rest of his quiet time. Once Dalton got up from his nap they took the kids to "Big Donald's" for french fries, ice cream, and playing. They came home and she'd come up with a special baby bottle snow globe craft to make for Wabie's room with the boys. Awwwwwwww. So sweet!

Then she finished up dinner just in time for Jason to arrive. Mmmmmm...dirt dessert goatee!

This is where she gets even more awesome...Jason has been working on his album and there are just a few parts left to finish up which involve some backup singing by two pals...well she stayed to get the boys bathed and in bed so that Jason's friend could come over right after dinner and he'd be free to do some recording instead of bedtime tonight. She stayed until both of them were sound asleep up there. Lauren too. Hopefully getting more of this finished up will be a bit of a load off J's mind and also I like that he's getting a break from us and from work to do something fun.

Plus, she left me leftover food...doughnuts and chicken salad and fruit dip and Mexican seven layer dip. I had lost some weight with this bedrest because my swelling has had the chance to go down tremendously...with all this good eatin' I'm sure I'll put it right back on!

Thank you so much to my sweet, patient mama and sister! We all can't thank you enough!!!! And all the day/night before you start back to work after the summer??? You're awesome!

P.S. You want to hear something funny? After Gramoo had taken such awesome care of us all day, that night I dreamed that she even had my C-section for me! (You know how dreams don't always make a ton of sense...) She had my C-section and texted us that we'd had a girl. (Dreams about a girl=3, dreams about a boy=0.) She ended up being in the NICU for a bit but it wasn't too serious. Still...I was glad it was just a dream.

I already think Gramoo is pretty unbelievalbe, but if she actually followed through with that c-section plan then that would REALLY be something! :)

And YUM on the 7 layer dip. I think I need to make that this weekend!
