"So how was your test?"
As soon as my mom and Lauren left and E started paying attention to me again he popped his head over the back of the couch where I was to check on how things went at my NST. He's a sweetie-poo.
So, Wabie looked okay on the NST. They look for what they call variability in the heart rate. If Wabie's heartrate stayed mostly the same the whole time, that's actually a bad thing so they look for a few accelerations of the heart rate and such and apparently Wabie had enough to satisfy them. Heart rate was MOSTLY right around 150 (but would go up to 170 during the accels) for those of you that care about such things. :)
Then Jason and I went to wait for the OB. My blood pressure was about the same as it's been...so "fine". She told us we'd likely not make it to 09/09/09 but Jason and I were like, "Duh! We said goodbye to that idea long ago." I'd rather have a C-section the first day they'll let me than be on bedrest just to get a cool birthday.
So, anyway, she circled "mild preeclampsia" on my chart but I'm not sick enough yet for Wabie to need to come out. I'm to stay on bedrest and go back for my regularly scheduled appointment next week. They added another NST to my next appointment too (as well as a second NST later in the week if I make it till then). Also, I'm slated to repeat my lab work again starting Tuesday into Wednesday.
If my blood pressure ever goes up alarmingly, if I start having other symptoms, if Wabie doesn't look good on the next NST then things could change...
Or if the labs come back and my proteinuria has decreased then that just means "the bed rest is working" and I'll stay on it till some further unknown date or issue comes up. If the proteinuria number increases significantly (to like, 800) then they may decide to take Wabie out due to the "trend". Or, of course, if any of the other labs start pointing to preeclampsia then that could change things as well.
Right now it's just a wait and see while on bed rest kind of thing. Definitely not loving the bed rest...I'm too much of a control freak, but I hope I'll be better now that things aren't quite so up in the air. We have a bit of a plan. Say my labs, NSTs, and BP stay okay then I'll just stay on the bed rest until "sometime between 38 and 39 weeks" when they'll just figure I'm done anyway and cut this little Wabes out. :)
And there ya have it.

Relieved to hear this update. continuing to keep you and Wabie in my prayers!
Hugs to you. I can't imagine best rest would ever be easy, but with two active boys it must be VERY hard. I know how much you must want to be up and moving around with them. I am trying to come up with something fun/creative to send you and the boys but so far ...nada! I am not the most creative person. Any suggestions about anything you need would be welcomed.
Keep your head up buttercup!
Yay! I'm glad you and your Doctor have an official "plan" now :)
Hang in there Mama. Not much longer.
Hang in there sweetie! I wish there was a way for you to enjoy your bed rest, but I can see how maddening it would be.
Wow! It really is the count down now isn't it! Wabie will be here soon.
Thinking of you and praying all continues to be 'okay'. Bedrest cannot be much fun with two boys there at home! Not too much longer! You're such a trooper!
I'm glad things are okay for the time being!
