We had a good weekend...and lucky for me, I've already blogged about Saturday. What a timesaver! :) More time to enjoy my mini quiches when they come out of the oven here soon.
So Sunday we went to the early service at church. Both boys were protesting the whole time but we made 'em do it anyway. Jason said some of the 2 year olds were so sweet when Dalton arrived crying, they brought him little toys to try to cheer him! Awwww. Because we left them both already crying we never got called out of the service to come to our crying kids...clearly if we leave them crying then we don't care if they cry or not, right? Okay, well, that's sort of how I thought they might feel. But, once we picked them up at the end of service, neither was crying. Dalton was eating a Ritz watching a lady clean the table and Easton was playing cars on the floor with some other boys. They said Dalton did okay although he burst into tears of relief again when he saw us. And they said Easton cried on and off.
But they both had projects:
And we think it's so cute to think of our 22 month old sitting at a table with a bunch of 2 year olds working on a little coloring:
It's still hard for me to completely relax at church and focus on the message and all because I'm worried about the boys. We'll get there.
When we got home we had lunch and Diddles and I each took a nap. Easton had quiet time and then J took him out on his bike for the first time:
His new Spidey helmet is too small so he had to wear his old Sesame Street one:
They even rode to the park before coming home to finish watching more football:
We had dinner with a strange potato mishap and then Easton tucked Jason and I into bed saying he was going to get himself and D ready for bed. He ran his own bath and washed himself but we did Dalton and kept them company before tucking them in for the night.
This morning we went to Krispy Kreme and Easton was still on his "I'm a 4 year old man" kick so he ordered the doughnuts himself and handed over the credit card. When we finished what we had he said he was still hungry and so I sent him up with a buck to buy another one. Only no one could see him so I had to join him for a sec until they saw us. Instead of ordering just one he repeated exactly what he'd said the first time so I had to speak up. But he handed over his dollar and was so excited when she gave him the change, "She gave me even more money!" I couldn't believe he ate 3 doughnuts this morning then came home and devoured a granola bar.
We headed out to Wal-Mart after that stocking up on all sorts of yummy stuff for the week. Then we hit the free Redbox and while the boys watched their movie and had a picnic lunch in front of the tube, I got to work putting the groceries away, putting our dinner in the Crock-Pot, and also making those yummy quiches. Which I've got to go eat now...
Bye!

Awe, I know how hard it is to leave your crying child with someone you don't know. Elsie has been going into the nursery for 8 months now and she still crys and clings to me every time I drop her off and again when I pick her up. Of course, they always tell me that she did great while I was in service. In the beginning I would sneak out of church and go the the nusery window to see if I could hear her crying or not just so I could go back and relax during service. I am happy to hear that you have found a church you all like and pray that soon your family can make some connections with other families who have kids close to your kids ages.
Three donuts! Wow!
Lots of kiddos cry at drop off and pick up, so it sounds like they are doing well enough with church! Hopefully they'll start to look forward to it at some point, though.
Okay, what time do your boys wake up? ...and then what time do you leave your house for doughnuts? Do you shower? Do you dress the boys? How do you get to Krispy Kreme, back home, out to Walmart and back home in time for lunch? I thought I got alot accomplished in the morning...but you rock it all before lunch!
lol, I have to 2nd Molly's questions. I feel like I know your "routine" pretty well, but am still amazed at how much you do BEFORE lunch.
So glad you guys have found a church home. I hope as you continue to get settled in and meet new people, that it will richly bless all 4 of your lives!
