I know where I usually am...in the kitchen, fixing dinner. The boys would usually be dangerously/annoyingly underfoot while I tried to cook or often "babysat" in front of a TiVo'd show.
But lately...these two can't get enough puzzles!
Sometimes they'll work as a team, sometimes separately...but I can't remember the last time they played with actual toys. Especially Dalton. He does them even more than Easton and he's good.
Occasionally Easton gets out some toys during his quiet time, but it still often involves at least a little bit of puzzling:
We don't have all that many...and so we repeat them all day. In fact, at my OB appointment yesterday, my 36 weeks pregnant brain had me forgetting to bring anything for them to do during my ultrasound and appointment...no lollipops, no books, nada. So, of course I always expect them to behave no matter what, but to encourage it a little more I promised a new puzzle if I had two good boys during my doctor visit. It worked! I gave it to them so I could sit down and update my blog and they had it done in no time. Then moved on to all the others again.
Most of the ones we have are too easy for Easton, but he likes them anyway, he likes being able to do them quickly. We have just two that are for the 5+ crowd and one of those I think is mislabeled as Jason and I even find it a tad challenging! :) Lucikly I bought two more 5+ puzzles today and they'll get them at some point. I have a stash of puzzles I'm hanging on to for post-Wabie treats or other kinds of rewards. I love that they're on such a puzzle kick right now. It's much easier for me to play puzzles right now than it is to pretend each of us is a Transformer or space man running around the house getting Decepticons or aliens.
Although we did play a little Wii the other day...that was easy to do from my perch on the couch with my ankles up as well. But I had to get up to take a picture of Dalton boxing. He's too funny:
And that's what our days have been filled with lately.

Recently, I've been reading about a few other friends with kids Easton & Adam's age that are also crazy about puzzles. I don't know why my little guy doesn't like them so much. He'll do them...but only if I'm actively involved. He's never come close to doing a large one entirely by himself. I'm really impressed with your boys!
Puzzles are fantastic! We love puzzles over here too. Izzy is really good at them, but Drew still gets very easily frustrated. I am super impressed that Dalton can do them, and by the number of pieces some of them look to be - I don't think we have any over 25 pieces and only Izzy can do those.
I should probably get some puzzles for KayTar. She used to love the wooden kind, but once she outgrew them, she wasn't really ready for the big kind and we never made the leap.
