Our Weekend

The boys have been doing a lot better in their room these last few nights. Instead of leaving them both in there to fall asleep, we do our usual bedtime routine all together and then I take Dalton to rock for 10-15 minutes to help him settle down. He doesn't get rocked to sleep, and Easton isn't asleep when I bring D back BUT it seems to be enough time apart and to get that the idea is to be sleepy, not silly. So, Friday night involved some of that.

Saturday morning Easton had his very last t-ball game:

Jason had to act as first base coach this week:

Easton got a medal from his coach:

He is super happy to be done with boring ol' t-ball:

He never complained and would say he didn't want to go or anything, but he just always thought the games were so boring. Practice was usually okay by him but games really are a ton of standing around for 4 year olds.

And 2 year olds, for that matter:

I think it'll be soccer for both of them next summer. Yay!

We had to rush home because less than 45 minutes after the game ended, I was scheduled for my maternity photo session at Target and I had yet to shower! Plus I wanted the rest of the family in some of them...Jason needed to shave and everyone needed to change. Somehow we made it!

I get my pictures later this month and I'll be sure to share some of them. Some of them involved tulle and me half-undressed. We'll have to see about sharing those ones. :) Luckily you won't have to wait for me to send them off to the grandparents before I put them on the blog...we didn't get them to share with others. Who wants a wallet photo of me in tulle??? I don't even think Jason does! :)

We came home for lunch and quiet time and Jason got to work assembling my new patio table:

Easton always loves to help with such tasks:

We sure like it! Thanks again, Gramoo!

Sunday morning was church. When we went to pick up Dalton from his class we couldn't see him. And neither could his teacher. That's when the kid helping her piped up that "he's in the bathroom". Yay Dalton!!!! We were never sure how he'd do away from us, away from home...but when she went to check on him he was in there making a twosie. We were so so so proud! Even if it did add 5 minutes to our departure time.

Sunday evening was small group. We weren't sure if we were going to go...Sunday evenings are probably J's least favorite time for "events" but then again, there really isn't a better time during the week. So after our first dinner outside at our new table, we headed over to our hosts house. The boys did really well playing outside with all the other kids. Although one time Easton brought Dalton to the door saying, "Dalton needs to go potty" and I learned he'd pooped his pants. A mess of a poo, too. I think it caught him by surprise--you know how that goes. Luckily it was a contained disaster and I was able to send him right back out to play after a quick clean up.

Small group runs so late which is one of the reasons we don't like the idea of going all the time, but it was nice all the same. However, it was after 9 before the kids were even in bed, let alone asleep. But I didn't even rock Dalton and the boys did great falling asleep without too much talking and definitely no silliness or mischief. Hooray!

The crazy part was that Dalton woke at his normal time: 7:00. But he called so quietly for me that Easton was able to stay asleep...until 8:45!!! That is unheard of in our house. It really threw off our day too. We didn't make our doughnut run till 9:30 or so and by the time we'd eaten and played a bit it was somehow already time for Dalton's nap--without having a real lunch since we'd just eaten. Oh well.

Anyway, that's the latest from here!

He thought t-ball was more boring than soccer? I've always thought baseball is a lot more fun than soccer. All that running back and forth, ack. LOL.

Is he doing something in the fall or are you guys taking a break, what with the new babe and all?

Patio furniture looks great. That Moo is something!

Glad t-ball is over for big E. It's funny because that's the one that we're looking forward to and all three of us are dreading soccer at this point. Well actually 4 of us because Drew HATES not getting to run wild at practice. What we're REALLY looking forward to is basketball...the rest is just filler for now. :)

Was the small group you went to on Sunday the same one as before? Because it was previously on a Friday, right? It is too bad that it makes for such a late night. We usually out of ours by 7:30ish and that's just because we visit and have dessert at the end. At least you're giving it a try...great way to meet/bond with new folks!
