Fit To Be Tied

Tie DYED that is.

So I never did share the pictures of the finished products. But here ya go. As AJ noticed...we did some LSU colors. Our kit came with four colors one of which was fuschia which I actually threw away, knowing I'd never do anything with it.

Part of the tie-dying not being the huge success I was hoping it would be was that I tried doing it with Dalton awake. And that I tried doing it right before our mountain getaway. I should've read the instructions...I really wanted the boys to have their LSU shirts to wear up on the mountain...for the first LSU game of the season. But that didn't happen. Looking back on the experience, I will totally try tie-dying again. I learned a lot.

Here are the shirts...one for Jason, I really like how it turned out:

And then the boys got long-sleeved versions...unfortunately you can see how the dye was not as able to pentrate the whole shirt:

Easton even got a pair of socks to match...for fun:

And I crumple-dyed a pair of boxers for Jason as well:

Crumple-dying was really the only way to go with underwear as I believe most men would not like a bull-eye anywhere in the area. ;)

Then I moved on to the green dye...and the boys got these shirts:

I did not intend for any of that yellow to be on the shirt...but I must've laid the shirt in a puddle of leftover yellow dye in the grass. Oops. It wouldn't have looked bad (kinda John Deerey) if I had put MORE yellow on the shirt. Lesson learned...keep away from the drips of previous shirts.

The onesie's snaps made it a little hard to do any kind of cool patterns. Oh well.

And finally I did a shirt for myself to sleep in or something.

So there ya go.

Our tie-dyeing project.

I think they turned out really cute. Especially yours and Jason's. Fun! I'm ready to do it again at our house too!

What a great idea! LOVE IT! I think they turned out so cute.

I now need to steal the idea and make the kids Buckeye (I see a fellow Buck fan among the group)shirts. Maybe while Pete is out at the Ohio State v. USC game???

You are so much better than I am - Christmas season at some bazaar I bought Izzy a tie-dyed dress and a coordinating long sleeve t-shirt for Drew. Probably much cheaper to make my own...but maybe not if it causes a huge mess/hassle ;)
