So, the first night without a paci? Well, he (and therefore we, or at least me) were up for two straight hours. But, we've had nights like that recently even with two normal pacis in there with him so it's tough to say. It did take him longer to fall asleep last night, but we never had to go up there. He just talked to himself instead of sucking on one paci and fiddling with the other one to fall asleep. That's fine. Great even. In the night when he woke at his new usual time to nurse I did that and he was quiet for awhile but you could hear him roll around, or make sounds, he was also coughing a lot all of a sudden :( sometimes he'd get worked up and we'd go in there to quiet him down a bit which would last a little while. After two hours of that I nursed him again and then I think he sucked the new paci he doesn't like before going back to sleep. Who knows if the being awake two straight hours was due to not having his pacis or not? The cough sure wasn't helping. As I said, we've unfortunately had nights like that recently anyway. Boo. Oh well, it's time to get rid of 'em. Hope he gets over it soon, though.
This morning I was the first one up. J was exhausted from having to help with D and I had to get up to get ready before the boys because today was a school day. I woke Easton up around 7:15 or so and he had some juice next to his daddy snoring in the bed. :) He was already whining about school again. But last night we had some fun "practicing" how drop-off would go. I held a bear to pretend like it was Dalton and E and I would walk down the hall, pretend to hang up his backpack and then he'd give me a hug and go happily and bravely into class (his bedroom). Then I'd come get him, ask how he did, and we'd talk about going to put his sticker on his chart. We did that a couple times and did it again this morning. He had such fun with it. He said he dreamed about it (because I told him to dream about it when I said we couldn't practice before bed anymore last night) and I don't know why I didn't think of the idea sooner. Anyway...
He didn't eat a thing for breakfast but we got him to school. While he was there Dalton and I praciticed the art of coupons and savings.
We hit 2 Walgreens for some amazing deals and then we also went to the Dollar Store for a couple things. Oh yeah, and we dropped off a couple of books to the library that were due today not to mention kicking it all off with a trip to Starbucks for some much needed caffiene. Then we went to get Bubbs.
Here he is on the phone telling Daddy how his day went:
And how did it go, you ask?
He started getting a little verklempt (yes, that's really how you spell it, I checked) as it was time to go in but once again Mrs. M swooped in for him and he was never really sad! So it wasn't perfect, but we felt it was close enough for a sticker. And we're hoping the positive reinforcement will help for Thursday and such. He picked out some Hot Wheels fruit snacks as his mini prize of the day and we came home for lunch.
Then it was time for D's completely paci-less nap. I didn't even give him the funny tasting rigid new one because I know he used it at least a little last night and he just needs to be done. He normally goes down so easily for a nap...I give him his Cuddles, two pacis and he goes to sleep...today, not so much. He cried about it. Or sat up and called for me. I'd go in and get him settled, rub his back, his head...he loves when you rub his ear...makes him all drowsy. I did that a few times but didn't stay till he was asleep and he's finally out.
Not sure what the plan is for after quiet time today. I can tell you we won't be seeing Isaac and Caleb today. Dalton needs a break. Caleb is a tad agressive and Dalton has gotten afraid of him. He's got these scratches on his face from our hour at the park yesterday:
I never even saw that incident happen, but I think I am safe in assuming. Caleb even goes after Easton! I like them a lot but I sure hope Caleb grows out of that soon because I don't like exposing my boys to it or bringing them around people that don't keep them "safe". :(
Well, Easton needs a reminder on what it means to be quiet during quiet time. I think he might need a nap today but he's probably not gonna have one. Oh well. Maybe I'm projecting my own desires for a nap onto him?
That's probably more like it.

Wow, you have a lot of transitions going on! I am glad to hear that E did better with school and hope that D gets used to not having his paci.
Yes, I am fairly new to blogging, but I have to say I love it. Especially now that we have DSL vs. Dial Up.
Way to go E! I am glad that you got to enjoy some fun time with D!
Woah on those scratches. Poor D. :(
So glad Easton did so much better today. He's getting there!
Did you do the Walgreens deals that the serious savers do? Every week I tell myself THIS is the week I'm going to do them, but I haven't accomplished it yet. Maybe next week! lol
Caleb is still so young that I'd say he should probably outgrow that aggressiveness. However, as I've learned the hard way, you can tell a lot about how the child will be as he gets older by seeing how his parents handle situations like that. Something to keep your eye on. I hate seeing D with scratches. :(
Sounds like an awesome day for Easton. Each day gets better and better.
I hope that Dalton adjust quickly to his new paci-free days. And that you and J are able to get some sleep.
Way to go E on school today. Hopefully that sticker today is the first of many more.
Okay, don't judge me because I know it is SO wrong, but Izzy still has her binkies in bed with her. She is 3.5! I know I need to get rid of them but I just haven't done it yet. I really think she just uses it as she falls asleep b/c I don't see it in her mouth when I check on her. Oh...I need therapy, don't I?
wow, WTG E!!! He'll have that spidey costume in no time!
Poor D, with his scratches. I hope Caleb does grow out of this aggressive stage. That sucks.
Hoping tonight went better for you and D without the paci!
