Baby #1 is on his first overnight away from home (without us) tonight. He went to spend the night at Gramoo's. Just him and Gramoo and Lauren. Just for fun. Isn't that so cute?
I dropped him off at about 4:30 this afternoon. He's been very excited about it and it's getting close to 8:30 and I haven't heard anything so I guess that's great, right? Although I'm so so curious and of course I'm missing him. He'll be back in the morning for swimming lessons.
Baby #2 is on his second night of not wanting to rock before bed. Last night I sat to snuggle and rock for a bit and he said, "I want bed!" and I said, "Shhhh...snuggle snuggle" as I tried to do just that. And he kept saying, "Bed! I want bed!" and I kept trying to not let him. Finally I was like, "Are you sure you want your bed?" and he said his very cute, "Yas." And I said, "Fine. Gimme a kiss" and he did and I said, "Night night, Baby" as I laid him down and he said, "Nigh nigh". I was sure he'd change his mind and eventually cry after talking to himself for awhile but nope. He was silent. Didn't need me at all.
Pulled it again tonight too.
I miss my babies being babies!!!
But who they're growing up to be is pretty darn cool too.
Here's E with his overnight bag walking up to Gramoo's:
And D who is home with us tonight but feeling independent as far as putting himself to bed goes:
I'm really proud of both of them and their independence tonight...we're trying to instill that in them, for sure, so why is it making me a little sad too?
Bittersweet I guess.

awww! I so know what you mean...I miss the days when Cameron needed me to do certain things for him, however, I love the little man he is becoming. Sniff sniff :)
I 100% agree with Sheree. It's so neat to see them grow up. It's also so sad to know we'll never get those baby days back.
Hope Eastie had tons of fun with Moo!
