...bribe him:
Easton likes superheros and costumes, right?
Superheros are brave.
If Easton can be "brave like a superhero" (not whining or crying, basically) then he earns a sticker to put in the window of this building...6 stickers and he earns the reversible Spidey/black Spidey (Venom) muscle costume you see at the top. (And Dalton will get the old Spidey suit that is getting too short on E.)
Each successful day Easton will also earn a smaller prize as well...a trip to the ice cream store, new fruit snacks, a Spiderman thing from Target's dollar spot...that sort of thing.
We've been talking it up.
Tonight he had a bath with Spidey bubbles to soak up all the hero bravery goodness. He used his Spiderman toothbrush before bed. I had him pick out the underpants that would make him feel his bravest...and then we put on his Batman jammies. I sang him a song about how much fun he was going to have being brave and playing at school tomorrow. Jason gave him a pep talk.
Tomorrow he wants to eat breakfast at the table in his room...and we'll look up at that costume before we head out for our first try with the reward system in his head.
Say a prayer for us?
